Long Abdomen? Shorter Legs?

Having a long abdomen is usually slimming; I know many women who would love to have one! But for those with a long abdomen, it does present its own set of problems.

For instance, it can make your legs appear shorter and can be murder if you’re striving for that hourglass look. Take a tip from me though; there are many ways to jazz up the wardrobe you have right now that will give you that curvy, proportioned look.

For one, remember that flats do not flatter anyone’s legs; they are an abrupt end to a lovely gaze! Instead, wear heels whenever you get the chance to lengthen your legs! Those heels should be either basic colors or in tones that compliment your skin color so your legs appear longer. Also, refrain from gladiator styles or clogs—too clunky so they are not much better than flats!

Flattering Choices:

Move your waist up a bit through visual techniques, such as empire waisted dresses!

When wearing a skirt, add a wide belt at the top of your waist; it will shorten the distance between the abdomen and chest visually.

Wearing tops with cowl necks, square necklines, and even scoop necklines draws attention upwards and also leaves less fabric between the neckline and waist, thereby shortening your torso.

Wear flowing tops with some texture to them that are at least as long as mid-hip!

Less Flattering Choices:

Don't wear belts on your hips; it elongates your abdomen even further, making you bottom heavy.

Don't tuck your shirts in; doing so is not in the best interest of any body shape and will make a stark contrast between top and bottom!

Solid color shirts aren't in your best interest; wear shirts with patterns and text to break it up!

Also, cropped trench coats or boyfriend blazers will taper your in a little above the waist!
