Welcome to the Anti-Slouch Tall League!
Amazon! Basketball player! Jolly green giant! Such lovely, endearing terms!Believe me, whether your thin or full-figure, if you’re tall, you’ve heard them all! And it’s not too fun…until you realize that women of your height have and continue to have success in being beautiful women!
Take, for instance, Sophia Loren. Sure, we’ve all seen her picture somewhere once she had made it in Hollywood, but did you know that studio after studio refused to hire her because her height and curvaceous figure intimidated the male execs?!?
Sophia was every bit of 5’8 ½ --and uncommonly tall woman for her day—and she ranged between a size 16 and size 18 dress.
Needless to say, Sophia Loren was nowhere near a godly, modest woman; but the fact that she could be beautiful—even sexy—as a taller, larger woman should be encouragement that you can too!
Flattering Choices:
Never be afraid or ashamed to wear heels--you still deserve gorgeous calves!
Accent with pieces that draw attention away from your height: scarves, purses, and belts.
Layer your clothing; the more color blocks you have, the more you shrink...unless weight is an issue!
Dress for width with flared trench coats and jackets; A-line skirts are great too!
Less Flattering Choices:
Don't slouch! Stand tall and beautiful!
Empire waists are out. They will make your legs look like they begin at your armpits!
Platform shoes...hmm, not so much!
Don't over do it on the pencil skirts or long skirts--they add height!
Don't wear flats to try hiding your height; people know you are tall so be tall and beautiful! Flat only make your feet look long, giving you an L-shape!
